Meanwhile, in the local primetime...

Just when this local network comes to the precipice of finding ideas for a primetime that would earn high ratings, came an idea. Nobody thought of making a soap opera about same-sex relationships, most especially on Philippine TV and they did. Brilliant. Yes, in a country with strong religious roots this awareness was no longer discreet, as one would describe a closeted gay man. So yeah let's bring it to the light, they thought, and soon enough it was the talk of the town. Who would've known? It would seem a desperate move for the network to win back it's viewers but people and the regulatory board gave it a chance and many watched, became hooked, and soon they found themselves able to relate to the story.

And so the late night TV was graced with the show "My Husband's Lover". When husbands cheat question would be: who is the mistress? But it was never asked of which gender. Why? Because that would be denied unthinkable, though it is a possibility. The fear you get out of watching this soap is that you would think it could happen to you, and you catch your husband doing what you thought was unthinkable. In a way, it makes you think on the premise that it is indeed happening, as the story tells, and right under your nose. Though wives watch it anyway because intrigue excites us and we do want to know the resolution to this dilemma, so we would be able to know how to cope up should it happen to us, or for the wives anyway. And because the two leading men are hot and we spend so much time thinking there could be something happening between them off camera that we don't know.

Both in and out of the story context fans gathered all the same *ehem* and loved the chemistry between the two male leads namely Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez. Not only were they hot and looked hot together, but they are very promising actors in such challenging roles. One could only think of an unspeakably possible motivation why. Out of this fandom came the portmanteau "TomDen" because people would like to believe it's in real life. The two actors were surprised by the success of the team up and found themselves in for a lot of teasing specifically in an interview. I squirmed with so much mush, my brain died. They confessed the awkwardness they had while doing the scenes but there were no qualms whatsoever in the quality of their acting. Although Tom did look a lot titillated in the interview with Dennis *hihihi.

Well, assuming our fantasies were real, which do you think of these two pictures convince you most? :)

Well, in hindsight of these two actors' lovely behinds, we thought we weren't ready to handle issues like this, and how the public reacts to it was just the right nudge to people concerned that issues like this are best confronted with the absence of prejudice. The actors believe this could be a start of something good for this kind of subject in the industry. We all do as well.

Well, cheers to that!
